Question:
Dear Norm,I have been building furiture for about 11 years. I do not have a jointer. When I glue my edges together they are straight and right off the table saw. I use a biscuit joiner about every 8" and glue up two or three pieces at a time. My seams are just about invisible and I've never had any come apart. I've been told by other woodworkers that jointing each board is a much stronger glue joint even if I don't put biscuits in. Is this so and what is your theory? Thanks for your time. Steve Ingram
Answer:
Your friends are correct. We always joint boards that will glued up. |
