Question:
I tend to shy from oak project because every time I cut oak with my radial arm saw it tend to burn the wood. Is there any trick to avoid this from happening?PS:you have a great show. I have made 6 Adirondack Chairs. They turned out excellent. Giovanny Lahoz Rio Rancho, NM

Answer:
The burning probably occurs when the blade progress through the wood stops. Whenever possible, plan the rip or the crosscut to avoid having to stop the cut part way through.
