The Lowboy - Item #0409
|
Jeff Burt, Michigan We wanted to send you a photo of our version of the lowboy you built on the show. My sons wanted to make something for their mother for Mothers Day so they were trying to come up with some ideas. And the show where you built the lowboy aired that weekend and they were both inspired to make one by the show. We decided to make our own version using yours as the inspiration. We cut and shaped the legs and carved the fan into the center drawer also turned some finial drops. It is made of curly cherry and has popular secondary wood for the dovetailed drawers. The finish is amber stain with a light coating of mahogany topped with several coats of wipe on Polly. The boys are very pleased with the results and I am very proud of them they did most of the work themselves. They both are skilled woodworkers and the want to be just like "Norm" and work with wood the youngest did a paper at school about a his favorite tv show no surprise to me he did it on the NYW. By the way my wife loves the lowboy. Keep up the good work you are truly inspiring a new generation of kids to keep striving to do better. |
