Norm's insightful demonstration of tambour construction on the two part NYW rolltop desk episode inspired me to try my hand. I modified the the pedestals a bit to add baseboards all around and used sliding dovetails on the front rail joints for easier knockdown. The whole desk was fumed with ammonia for 8 hours and finished with 5 coats of satin poly followed by a paste wax. A very satisfying project. Thanks, Norm.
