Nightstand #0211:
An antique cherry nightstand, circa 1840, found in a friend's house on Nantucket Island, is inspiration for Norm to build his version in The New Yankee Workshop. This square- topped, single drawer nightstand has 4 handsomely turned legs. Norm uses cherry for the body of the piece, and fashions the drawer front from tiger maple as a distinctive contrast. The simple elegance of this nightstand assures its place as a family heirloom.

1. Item #0201 - Miter Bench and Storage |
A well-equipped workshop will need a bench for a miter saw. In this two part project, Norm builds a useful model with extensions on both sides of the saw, an adjustable stop block, an auxiliary guide for use with an adjacent radial saw table, and much more...

2. Item #0204 - Adirondack Loveseat |

We reached a milestone recently when we shipped a complete set of New Yankee DVDs, all 210 of them, to a single customer. It occurred to us that there may be others out there who would like to have the complete works recorded over the 21 year history of the program. Perhaps for a favorite wood worker, a gift to a favorite public library, a school or just to have in one's personal collection, these New Yankee Programs will never again be duplicated.
While not inexpensive at $2,999, bought separately the cost would be twice that and of course we'll pay the shipping (Domestic Only). Norm has said he'd even be willing to personally autograph 6 color pictures for a buyer of a complete set.

Kyle of Indiana writes to us:
This is my copy of The Shaker Bookcase. All Cherry that was harvested from my uncles back yard. Instead of plate glass I opted for seeded glass to give it a more antique look. I think it turned out pretty good. Special thanks to the guys at NYW for help in the recipe to get the right finish. I look forward to more building and more importantly that Norm will come out of retirement.
