Like thousands of other sons growing up in the 1990s, I watched New Yankee with my dad every week. My wife and I live in an old house now, and it’s been Norm and the other TOH craftsmen guiding us through its restoration. As I’ve grown my own basement workshop in recent years, Norm’s purposeful design, meticulous execution, and video guidance have led me through several New Yankee projects. One of a growing collection of NYW projects I’ve built, this chimney cupboard is actually a combination of that plan and the linen press plan, and is constructed from locally sourced cherry. I’m proud of what I hope will be an heirloom piece. Thank you to Norm and the crew!
